Beautiful books belong on bookshelves. Bookshops, libraries and studies are wonderful places to wander, browse, dream and discover.
Tasmanian Bookshops
Amanda Scotney, the curator of the Confidence Minds Shine Bright Anthology was born in Hobart, Tasmania and spend many hours browsing book shops so it’s delightful to see strong support from Tasmanian bookshops. Tasmanian bookshops have a strong sense of identity and provide great support to local writers.
These include the Hobart Bookshop at Salamanca Square with knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Fullers Bookshop in Collins Street Hobart, with its cosy cafe and a great collection of books. A place to browse and lose all sense of time in.

Petrarch’s Bookshop in Launceston supports local writers and events.

Victorian Bookshops
As part of our Northern Victoria tour here are some photos from Echuca. The Confidence Minds Shine Bright Anthology 2022 nestles in the poetry section of Collins Booksellers, Echuca

and Minds Shine Bright poet Karen Lee Mills and manager Cindy Patzel, show us Cindy’s own delightful children’s story, also available in store.
In our travels we have two more wonderful bookshop pictures to share with you from Northcote and Fairfield. Here is the Confidence Anthology proudly on display at Neighbourhood Books on High Street Northcote. Neighbourhood Books have a wonderful assortment of contemporary fiction and many books by local authors can be found in here. I could hardly tear myself away.

The next bookshop I discovered was Fairfield Books. In the middle of Fairfield’s shopping strip on Station Street. Fairfield Books has a wonderful collection of poetry and anthologies as well as many other wonderful books to discover.

On Display
It’s wonderful to hear that Confidence Minds Shine Bright Anthology 2022 has been on display at the Horsham Library.in the new books section. We look forward to seeing it in more libraries and bookshops as we continue to spread the word.
The first two bookshop bookshelves Confidence Minds Shine Bright Anthology 2022 found a home in were – up high in the anthology section at Readings St Kilda, (112 Acland Street) and in the Paperback Bookshop, 60 Bourke Street, Melbourne, Australia.

Thanks for the article, Amanda. I’m always on the lookout for great new independent bookstores and it is so good to see them supporting MSB publications. I love those that you’ve listed for Tasmania (where I’ve holidayed recently). I got to each of those you’ve listed but didn’t get to Launceston, so I’ll have to check out Petrarch’s next time.
Next time you are in Perth make sure you visit Lane’s, Crow and Rabble. If you get a chance to go further afield, I’d add Barclay’s in York to your list as well. I’m not sure if they current stock the MSB but they should.
