On the road

In January we took Minds Shine Bright on the road to Northern Victoria. Amanda Scotney presented three workshops to writers groups in Echuca, Kyabram and Bendigo Karen Lee Mills read her poem, A Northern Flicker, at all three sessions and writer Kate Foulds joined us in Bendigo and read her flash fiction, Acorn.

The workshops called ‘Writing with Confidence’ included tips for competition writing and writing on the confidence theme.

The first workshop with the Campaspe Murray Writer’s Group’s was held at the Echuca Library.

Our next stop was Kyabram. The Confidence Wheel was one of the aids used to inspire writing on the theme of confidence at the workshops. The variety and creativity of interpretations of the confidence theme were enjoyed by all at the Kyabram Writers’ Group.

The third and final workshop was held by the Bendigo Writers Council at the Bendigo Library on Wednesday evening. It was well attended, participants were engaged and much creative and entertaining writing was shared back. Special thanks to Penny and Scott for making us feel so welcome.

We will keep you up to date with any future travels. We hope to visit Mudgee sometime soon.
