Thanks to everyone who is helping to spread the word about the Minds Shine Bright writing competition. It’s wonderful to see the encouragement, sharing and entries coming in.

Special thanks to the writing community organizations listed below, that are helping us to connect with more writers. This list will grow as we discover new resources and support. It’s our way of giving something back to the writing community.

Oceania region

  • Writers Victoria – connects and supports writers at all stages of their writing career
  • Writers Studio – offers writing courses live in NSW and online.
  • Australian Writers’ Centre – The Australian Writer’s Centre offers courses in creative writing, copywriting, freelance writing, business writing and more. They host the Furious Fiction monthly writing competition.
  • Fellowship of Australian writers NSW The Fellowship of Australian writers founded in NSW supports and encourages Australian writers with a range of writing. resources. It also has branches in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.
  • New Zealand Writers college – offers courses, mentoring and writers resources.
  • Michael King Writers Centre -supports New Zealand writers and promotes the development of high quality New Zealand writing. They have a program of residencies and support low cost accommodation for visiting writers.
  • writing WA – supports and creates opportunities for the writing community in Western Australia with resources for readers and writers.
  • TasWriters – supports and promotes Tasmanian writers and stories.
  • Queensland Writers Centre – a community that champions writers across Queensland, helping writers at all stages of their career.
  • Ballarat writers – a grass roots organization promoting local writing and writers in the Western Victorian region.
  • Arts hub a hub supporting the Australian arts community listing jobs, news, grants, events and opportunities.
  • Writers SA is based in South Australia and offers writers resources, workshops and events including a regional program.
  • Port Phillip library service five libraries across the City of Port Phillip.

International

  • Reedsy – giving authors and publishers access to professionals, tools and educational content to craft beautiful books.
  • London Playwrights – resources for emerging playwrights.
  • Almond Press – an independent publisher with a regularly updated list of writing competitions connecting writers, readers and publishers.
  • Writing.ie – based in Ireland. The complete online writing magazine.
  • Kindlepreneur – has a list of the best writing contests and how to apply.
